In 1899 Alfred Cart de
Lafontaine welcomed a group of guests from the Rotary Club into his home for a
tour of Athelhampton that commenced beneath the cedar tree. The script for the presentation has been
published in The Visitation by Owen Davies and the
title of this exhibition reflects the significance of this rare insight into
the thoughts of de Lafontaine, one of Athelhampton's most transformative, yet
enigmatic, owners.
